Licence Swap: Alcohol Instead of Driving Permit
In an incident that took place on August 29, 2025, a traffic stop was conducted on a Mercedes with Polish license plates in Gera, Germany. The incident involved two Polish nationals, one of whom was arrested for suspected driving without a license and having a high blood alcohol content (BAC) of 0.56%, while the other was found to be in possession of a small amount of marijuana.
The 19-year-old driver, whose name remains undisclosed, was found to be driving without a valid driver's license. After a court-admissible breathalyzer test was conducted at the station, the driver was prohibited from continuing to drive. The high BAC level was confirmed twice, as mentioned in the police report.

Both individuals were released from the scene after the incident. However, the 19-year-old driver, who was arrested on August 29, 2025, at 22:40 in De-Smit Street, remains under investigation.
