Nureva Granted Three Additional Patents for Microphone Mist Technology

Nureva, a leading provider of audio conferencing solutions, has received three new patents from the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) and the European Patent Office (EPO) for its innovative Microphone Mist technology.

The patents, which are the latest additions to Nureva's growing intellectual property portfolio, acknowledge the company's approach to intelligent sound targeting, position-based gain control, and echo cancellation.

The patented technology employs a microphone array that effectively overcomes the limitations and distractions caused by common issues with automatic gain control hysteresis and level pumping (US 11,635,937). It can also identify and exclude semi-persistent unwanted sound sources such as HVAC systems and fans during the targeting process (US 11,689,849).

Moreover, the microphone array uses sound-source position-based gain control processing to optimize the talker's gain while maintaining ambient noise at a quieter and more consistent level (US 11,635,937). This results in clear and natural speech intelligibility for remote students and meeting participants.

EP 3791565 discloses the use of residual echo estimate information to derive secondary echo reduction parameters, enhancing the acoustic return echo cancellation performance. The use of residual echo estimate information in Nureva's technology ensures talkers don't hear their own voice in their headset or speaker after speaking, regardless of the UC&C client being used (EP 3791565).

Nureva's CEO, Nancy Knowlton, expressed her delight over the new patents. She stated that these new patents further validate the company's original approach to delivering great audio in larger collaboration spaces. Knowlton also mentioned that the investment in the Microphone Mist technology platform continues to create exciting opportunities to bring unique and compelling value to Nureva's customers.

The intellectual property portfolio provides Nureva with significant opportunities to develop new products and enhancements. Knowlton expressed her confidence that these new patents will help the company to continue its mission of transforming the way people collaborate and communicate in the digital age.
