Circus Spectacle: Cagliostro in the Big Top, With Magic, Horses, and Tunes

In the heart of Vienna, music and theatre enthusiasts are in for a treat as two unique productions are set to captivate audiences.

First, on the stage of the Tent of Circus-Theater Roncalli, "Cagliostro - Johann Strauss in the Circus Tent" will be presented. This music theater production, a co-production with Johann Strauss 2025 Wien, Burgtheater Wien, Volksbühne Berlin, and Staatstheater Wiesbaden, combines artistry, acting, and various art forms. The title role is played by musical star Thomas Borchert. The show, suitable for children aged 8 and above, invites conversations, music, and movement to explore a constantly changing constellation of perspectives.

For those who appreciate a blend of classical and electronic music, the Vienna Konzerthaus will host an unforgettable event. On September 18 and 19, 2025, Camo & Krooked, composer Christian Kolonovits, and the Vienna Symphony Orchestra will present a mix of classical and electronic music on the traces of Johann Strauss.

Meanwhile, at the Konzerthaus, Vienna, Lothringerstraße 20, Mnozil Brass will present their commissioned work, "Strau$$ - A Dance Between the Chairs". This new show includes a parody of the Blue Danube Waltz, renamed "An der schönen blauen Donau, High Water Version".

Michael Schachermaier, director of "Cagliostro - Johann Strauss in the circus tent", has never ventured into this realm before. The original idea for both shows was to counter Cirque du Soleil with something Viennese.
